“Prayer in action is love, and love in action is service. Try to give unconditionally whatever a person needs in the moment. The point is to do something, however small, and show you care through your actions by giving your time… We are all God’s children so it is important to share His gifts. Do not worry about why problems exist  in the world- just respond to people’s needs… We feel what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean, but the ocean would be less without that drop.”– Mother Teresa

This quote speaks volumes about something very simple. Being of service to others, unconditionally and without judgement. No keeping score or expecting something in return.

This weekend is the Super Bowl (I’m taking in the Puppy Bowl)… a perfect time to maybe serve those that serve us. Make an extra batch of soup or chilli and run some down to your door person. Invite a new neighbor that doesn’t know anyone yet to watch the game with you and your friends. Engage the checkout person at the grocery store in a conversation and find out what she is studying in school, followed by words of encouragement every time you see her. Purposely keep  money in your coat pocket to drop in the guitar case of the singer at the State and Lake red line subway or the buy an extra cup of coffee or sandwich for the homeless person on the corner..taking time to look into their eyes and smile.

I hope your weekend is full of fun and sprinkled with service along the way. Peace out for now.
