“For every beauty there is an eye to see it. For every truth there is an ear to hear it. For every love there is a heart somewhere to receive it.”– Ivan Panin

I was walking home one day and saw this posted in a window. Interesting and very true in this highly technological  driven world we live in. The pictures we look at in magazines and print ads are cropped, chopped, enhanced and  photoshopped to the moon…. we mere humans could never look that way ..but we have young girls, women and even some men starving themselves, buying products they can’t afford and risking their lives having plastic surgery. Man don’t even get me started on the sad state of  television…

Maybe it’s time to go back in time a bit and pick up a book and read a classic again. Better yet..gather a few friends and read it together…and even maybe read it a loud. I loved the book group I was in when we decided to read the book together..chapter by chapter. A great way to take in the words by sitting back and just listening. We all need a good dose of connection with one another ..face to face and not through a quick email or text. I never thought I’d see the day a phone call was getting to be the most intimate form of communication. Technology is great and here to stay but let us not forget to stay connected over a coffee or a kitchen table.

Words/conversing/writing…can work for good or for hurt. Maybe today is the day to send a hand written note to your sister /brother or friend or parents and even your boss. Let them know what they mean to you. Plan a mini reunion at Starbucks. Look at their beautiful real face…hold their hand and hear their laughter or dry their tears. Nothing like the REAL DEAL. The time is now.
